New features and enhancements

Artificial Range Intelligence Agent

  • Artificial Range Intelligence Agent (ARIA): ARIA is now generally available. ARIA adds the ability to edit a blueprint, refine blueprint configuration, and help resolve errors in blueprints. Features include:
    • ARIA first-use guidance and response feedback: ARIA shows data-use and accuracy guidance when you first open it. You can rate a response and provide written feedback. (SP-13378, SP-13353, SP-13356, SP-13358)
    • Resume blueprint conversations: (ARIA) preserves blueprint chat sessions so you can resume a previous conversation or start a new one. A notice identifies when a session has been restored. (SP-3712, SP-3728)
    • Organization controls: Organization administrators can control whether ARIA appears for the users in their organization. Organization administrators also have permission to create artificial intelligence (AI) providers. (SP-13872, SP-13873, SP-14985)
    • ARIA provider configuration: Use CLING (see the following section) to update provider credentials and model configurations. (SP-4213, SP-4216)
    • ARIA provider application programming interface (API) endpoints: (ARIA) includes API endpoints for AI provider support and updating AI provider keys. (SP-3984, SP-11090)
    • ARIA provider commands: CLING includes commands for listing (ARIA) AI providers and model configurations. (SP-4217, SP-4218)
    • ARIA model support: ARIA supports newer OpenAI models and gives clear user-facing provider error notifications. (SP-11853, SP-12442)

Command-line interface

  • The command-line interface (CLING) for Platform is now generally available. Use CLING to administer Platform. To obtain the CLING installer, contact SimSpace Support.  Features include:
    • CLING installers: Install CLING using packages for Windows, macOS, Debian or Ubuntu, and Red Hat or CentOS. (SP-14909)
    • Current CLING session: The CLING terminal interface shows the active user, organization, and environment. Use cling whoami to inspect that information from the command line. (SP-13720)
    • Asset access management: Use CLING to view, grant, and revoke access to images, resource bundles, and configuration definitions. Course media assets also support owner management in the terminal interface and batch sharing commands. (SP-6111, SP-6148, SP-6139, SP-12818, SP-12817)
    • Command reference export: Use cling usage to export the available command reference for offline reference or automation.
    • Activity management in CLING: CLING includes an activity archive and sharing commands. (SP-11391)
    • Organization resource allocations: Authorized administrators can use CLING to view organization allocations and usage and set limits for virtual processors, memory, virtual machines (VMs), and network segments. When enforcement is enabled, operations that would exceed those limits are rejected with details about the exceeded allocations. (SP-11465, SP-12643, SP-14301, SP-14303)

Individual Trainer and course management

  • Training resources: Open course attachments from the course lobby and module attachments from Getting Started. During a session, use Additional Resources to access files and links for the current section, activity, or question. (SP-14672, SP-14673, SP-13758)
  • Live range updates: Training sessions receive live range and VM status updates, helping you see when resources are ready or change state. (SP-8665, SP-8670)

Team Trainer and user emulation

  • User emulation without attacks: Run user emulation in a team event without first adding attack scenarios. (SP-11718)
  • Application-aware user emulation cleanup: User emulation targets the application window or process used by an activity during cleanup, reducing interference with applications opened for manual work or custom scripts. (SP-13332, SP-13704, SP-14243)
  • Updated base blueprints: Business Base blueprint updates include revised user emulation personas and a correction to the SIFT VM disk layout. (SP-14900, SP-15345, SP-14287, SP-13599)
  • Offline user emulation deployments: User emulation adds support for locally hosted installation and runtime artifacts in offline deployments. (SP-14914, SP-14915)
  • Ubuntu troubleshooting tools: Ubuntu image updates add traceroute for investigating network paths. (SP-15462)

Application programming interface updates

  • Course pagination (breaking change): Course management API responses now use data and pagination, with page, pageSize, totalPages, and totalRows. Update integrations that read the previous course-summary fields or paginationMetadata. (SP-14887)
  • Versioned attack scenarios: Attack scenario APIs support publishing immutable releases, archiving and restoring releases, duplicating scenarios, and resolving versions by path. Access-management operations support attack scenario sharing and ownership changes. (SP-6322, SP-8725, SP-8728, SP-8729, SP-8732, SP-8733, SP-9160)
  • User emulation schedule setting: New API endpoints let you bypass a persona’s work schedule. Change the setting while user emulation is stopped; setting it doesn’t start user emulation. (SP-13308, SP-13309)

Fixes

  • Range modification layout: Modification drafts preserve resource positions from the running range, reducing the need to rearrange the canvas. (SP-11698)
  • Range state refresh: Range state refresh no longer stalls because of the resource-lock issue addressed in this release. (SP-14038)
  • Blueprint metadata editing: The YAML editor no longer offers name and description fields whose edits weren’t saved. (SP-14019)
  • Attack selection and results: Paging through attack scenarios no longer crashes when scenarios are selected. Completed attack cards remain visible and scrollable at normal browser zoom. (SP-12499, SP-13904, SP-15192)
  • Course score calculation: Course scores consistently use total points earned divided by total points available, so each point contributes equally to the final percentage. (SP-14960)
  • Course media replacement: Canceling a media replacement in the course editor preserves the existing embedded media. (SP-13881)
  • Windows console access from CLING: Opening a VM console from CLING on Windows uses the complete console address. (SP-14282)
