Regional cyber defence works only if the teams have trained together first. Adriatic Regional Security Cyber Cooperation ran June 24 to July 5, 2024 at the Slovenian Armed Forces’ Baron Andrej Čehovin barracks in Postojna, pairing about 50 US National Guard personnel from six states with some 60 counterparts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Slovenia and North Macedonia. Ten-person blue teams hunted simulated intrusions on a cyber range, identified adversary presence and executed mitigation against a red team. SimSpace supported scenario development alongside Slovenia’s new Cyber Range Department. Lt. Col. Erik Howg of the Iowa Air National Guard put the purpose simply: the exercise is fundamentally about building enduring relationships for a shared fight.
