Most cyber ranges stop at detection and containment, which leaves the hardest part of an incident, getting the business running again, untrained. The Commvault Recovery Range, built by Commvault with SimSpace, extends the exercise through recovery: defenders work inside a model of their own production environment, complete with simulated users going about daily operations, then validate backups, clean data and restore at speed using Commvault Cloud, Air Gap Protect, Cleanroom Recovery and Cloud Rewind. Commvault chief security officer Bill O’Connell calls the combination unique in the market. SimSpace chief executive William Hutchison describes the partnership as taking the range experience further by integrating the critical recovery component. Cross-team crisis management drills round out the programme.
