Commvault and SimSpace have brought a cyber recovery training programme to market that runs an incident all the way through, from the first alert to a restored environment. The Commvault Recovery Range combines realistic attack simulation with recovery practice in production-like conditions, exercising backup validation, data cleaning and rapid restoration alongside Commvault Cloud, Air Gap Protect, Cleanroom Recovery and Cloud Rewind. Bill O’Connell, Commvault’s chief security officer, describes it as offering the physical, emotional and psychological experience of a real-world cyberattack and recovery. SimSpace chief executive William Hutchison frames it as a complete cyber preparedness lifecycle that helps organisations minimise downtime. With ransomware outages averaging 24 days, rehearsal is what shortens them.
