RSA Conference 2024 landed on two messages at once: generative AI was everywhere on the show floor, and the fundamentals still decided outcomes. IDC’s research note on the event carries that tension in its title. SimSpace’s reading of it is straightforward. Whatever AI adds to detection and response, the questions that decide an incident stay the same: does the security stack actually work under load, and can the team run a response under pressure. Neither is settled by a product claim or a conference demo. Both are settled by testing controls, people and now AI agents together in a high-fidelity replica of the production environment, where failure costs nothing and the result is a measurement rather than an assumption.
