The SimSpace Boston Orlando move puts the company next to the missions it increasingly supports. Its new 7,000-square-foot site off Alafaya Trail will train people in cyber warfare, artificial intelligence, and the protection of critical infrastructure, from airports to power companies and gas utilities. CEO Peter Lee told WFTV that SimSpace is increasingly engaging with the missions of CENTCOM and Southern Command, which makes Florida the natural center for next-generation cyber development. Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins, speaking to reporter Valerie Boey, described a threat that runs far past IT and ransomware and keeps evolving. Partnerships with universities and high schools are planned as well, so cybersecurity in Orlando has the workforce the next decade of this work will need.
