What is a Cyber Cup?
Are you ready to push the boundaries of your cybersecurity expertise? Join us for the SimSpace Financial Services Cyber Cup this July, a thrilling competition designed to test your defensive skills in a simulated environment.
SimSpace’s Financial Services Cyber Cup is a friendly interactive cybersecurity competition designed to give participating teams the opportunity to compete with one another and test their Blue & Red Teams skills. This is a virtual event and supports individual and organizational anonymity. The competition can support 4-8 participants per team.
Event Structure
Defensive Challenge: Defend against real world threats and attacks
- Practice a “bad day” in a safe environment
- Score points by identifying IOCs and artifacts left by the attacker(s)
- Practice detection engineering and earn additional points when adding Yara, Snort, or Suricata rules that defend against ongoing threat(s)
Offensive Challenge: King of the Hill style competition
- Exploit and control as many computers as possible on a vulnerable network
- Earn points by maintaining control and access to acquired machines
- Hold your ground against opponent red teams in the same target space
The competition lasts approximately four hours, including kick-off, gameplay, and wrap-up. Participants will navigate a complex, isolated cyber range with a mixture of operating systems, applications, and configurations.
